U3A Skittles Group Leader Martyn Cox

The U3A Skittles Group is an open group and all U3A members can join in. Two Skittles Social Evenings are usually held each year in March or April and October or November. Members sign up for the event usually at the two U3A monthly meetings beforehand. Spaces are limited due to the venue capacity, so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.

The most recent U3A Skittles Night was held on Friday 27 March 2026 at the now customary venue of Liskeard Bowling Club, Varley Lane, Liskeard.

As usual, the event was fully sold-out, with a total of 24 competitors, randomly allocated to four teams. Collective team scores could be further enhanced by a small number of quiz questions related to the night's music - a mix of 60s and 70s hits.

Individual trophies and bottles of wine were also up for grabs for the best mens and ladies scores.

The overall individual winner was Chris Cox, a second time winner, with 47 pins. Whilst first time entrant Andy Thomas, took the men's trophy with 43 pins. The team prize was won by the Yellow team.
